I have been on Television before. Often it has been me on camera doing makeup on a model like on Breakfast Television or The Shopping Channel.
Up until recently I’ve never had a principle speaking roll on a national television show. Earlier this year I was contacted by a Producer of CBC’s daytime talk show called The Goods. They were looking for a Makeup Artist and Beauty Expert to be a regular on the show to provide makeovers and share the latest tips and tricks. I was very interested and booked 2 appearances on the show almost immediately!
Here is my debut on CBC The Goods. I’m on around the 9.50 mark.
CBC THE GOODS Gramma to Glamma
The segment was all about grandma makeovers or transforming Grammas to Glammas! I did makeovers on 2 lovely Grandmas-Margaret and Anne.
KEY MAKEUP PRODUCTS
Let’s break down the key products I used for both makeovers. With Margaret her main concern was her skin. She has rosacea on her cheek area which she finds she has a hard time covering. The products I used on her to help cover the pinky tones in her cheeks were a CC Cream from Marcelle and Select Cover-up from MAC Cosmetics. As a result she had beautifully evened out skin.
Next I applied the powder I described as ‘pantyhose for the face’! That powder being MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural which is a staple in my makeup kit. I lightly dusted this powder on Margaret to even out her skin (even more) and to set the CC cream and concealer mixture.
For Anne it was all about multi-functional products because she wanted more bang for her buck! First of all, the product that I used on her lips and cheeks was a Multistick from Bite Beauty. The colour was ‘Macaroon’ which is a nice dusty rose tone.
Finally for her eyes and brows I used NYX Cosmetics retractable eyeliner in the colour Gray.
Those are all the key products I used! I have another segment coming up later in April which is all about eyebrows. I will definitely do another follow up post for that one.
Stay tuned!!!! 😉
Beauty to you, for the perfect ‘I Do’!
