One of the perks of being a Wedluxe Glitteratti Member is that we get to participate in creative shoots for the magazine. When I first became a member last year I was about to give birth to my daughter so I wasn’t able to participate in any of those shoots.
I set a 2017 goal for ID!BC to participate in a Style Files shoot and have it printed in Wedluxe Magazine. Style Files are themed photoshoots that happen 2 times a year, put together by teams of fellow Glitterati members. Somehow I missed the original email from Wedluxe about their Style Files shoots; I was so mad and thought that I had missed the boat with all the teams filling up quickly. I ended up spending an entire day reaching out to all the planners to see if anyone needed a hair or makeup artist to round out their team. Many replied to let me know that they already had a complete team. I was very bummed. After about 2 weeks went by and I had pretty much lost all hope, I received an email from Tamara from Fab Fete! Their original makeup artist was no longer available and they wanted to know if I would like to be part of the shoot. I immediately replied yes (and did an impromptu happy dance).
The theme was ’50 shades of pink’ (my favourite color). ID!BC artist Deanna and I did the makeup for the Vibrant Love shoot. We created 2 different looks on the bride and groomed the groom!
The first look was edgy and needed a bright pink lip. I used MAC’s Show Orchid Lipstick and Beet liner to create this gorgeous hot pink lip. On her eyes and cheeks I used a Sephora Blush called Crazed & Confused for a nice pink punch. I used Dodo mink eyelashes to finish off the eyes.
For the second look Deanna changed the model’s lips to a softer classic pink lip and it looked beautiful! Nothing beats a pretty pink pout!
