How to Prevent Your Sunglasses from Ruining Your Makeup? Janine Revealed How to Sunglass-Proof Your Makeup!

Hey guys! I’m Janine holmes. As a celebrity makeup artist, one of my biggest challenges is ensuring my client’s makeup remains flawless even when they wear sunglasses. Whether it’s Demi Lovato, Adam Levine, or just us regular folk, sunglasses can ruin makeup, especially around the nose area. But don’t worry, I’ve developed a 5 step-foolproof method to keep your makeup intact. Follow these steps to prevent your sunglasses from messing up your perfect look.

Step 1: Apply Transparent Eyeshadow Primer

The first step in this foolproof method is to use a transparent eyeshadow primer. Apply a thin coat of the primer on the sides of your nose where your sunglasses will rest. This primer creates a barrier that helps to prevent the makeup from transferring and breaking down due to the pressure and friction from the glasses.

Step 2: Add Long-Wear Concealer

Next, apply a long-wear concealer over the areas where you applied the primer. The key here is to use a concealer that is designed to stay put for hours, even in challenging conditions. This extra layer of concealer will provide added coverage and durability, ensuring your makeup remains flawless.

Step 3: Set with Translucent Powder

Now, grab a makeup sponge and spray it with a long-lasting setting spray. Dip the damp sponge into a translucent setting powder and pack it onto the sides of your nose where your glasses will touch. This technique, known as “baking,” involves letting the powder sit on your skin for a few minutes. Allowing the powder to sit on the face for about 5-10 mins will set the makeup, creating a smooth and long-lasting finish.

Step 4: Prep the Glasses

While the powder is baking, take a moment to prep your sunglasses. Clean the nose pads with alcohol to remove any oils that might cause the makeup to slip. Once cleaned, dust a little of the same translucent powder onto the nose pads. This step helps to further reduce friction and keeps the makeup intact.

Step 5: Finish and Enjoy

After letting the powder sit for a few minutes, gently brush away any excess with a soft makeup brush. Your makeup is now set and you can now rock your fav pair of shades. And you can confidently go about your day knowing that your makeup will stay flawless!
